Every Memorial Day, CrossFit PTC joins thousands across the nation in honoring fallen service members through the “Murph” workout—a tribute to Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who gave his life in Afghanistan in 2005. This challenging workout—1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, followed by another 1 mile run, all while wearing a 20 lb vest—is more than just physical exertion; it’s a symbol of sacrifice, endurance, and unity.
This year, we’re dedicating our Murph to support two incredible organizations:
- Tails of Hope: Providing service dog training for disabled individuals, special needs children, wounded veterans, and first responders. They also offer hope, fellowship, and a lifetime of support and resources for individuals and families that need it most. – Tails of Hope website – YouTube Report on 11Alive
- The Eden Project: An all-volunteer Fayette County 501(c)(3), veteran-run organization. Their primary emphasis is here in Fayette and Coweta counties of Georgia, but they will never turn away a veteran. With two high-level goals—helping veterans and partnering with other service organizations—they emphasize engaging, encouraging, and empowering the warrior and his or her support system to promote and sustain the reintegration process.
