Ric Thompson

Head Coach and Owner

“Good Coaching is absolutely essential.  We have an on-going CrossFit PTC Instructor Training Program, and we believe that  coaches need to continue to learn.”

Jen Thompson

Coach

Jen received her CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Kids certification in 2010. She has also attended CrossFit Gymnastics, Mobility, and Powerlifting Certifications. She teaches both adult and kid classes.

“CrossFit has taken me on an incredible 5 year journey to fitness. It all started when I asked Ric to show me CrossFit and he told me to do “little Cindy” (3,4,5 ring rows, push ups) in our garage. My unfit body really didn’t like the workouts, but I loved learning all the new skills! The last few years have been “work”, training my own body , training others, and learning how to feed my family and live a healthy lifestyle. I am a ‘work in progress’ and easily identify with all the non-athletic, not super coordinated folks who don’t have an extensive gym background. I believe CrossFit works… And that belief has fueled an enthusiasm which has exploded into passion. I enjoy the opportunity to help others through their journey of obtaining a happier, healthier, lifestyle. My favorite part of coaching is helping people obtain small victories on the path to their overall goals.  I love the community and family we have built at CrossFit PTC. Going to the gym and working with people who sweat, laugh, and progress makes everyday worthwhile!”

Andrea Bauer

Coach

I heard about CrossFit from a former trainer who became a box owner in Oregon. She said, “If there is a CrossFit in Peachtree City then you have got to try it.” I hesitated at first, thinking that all the hours I was putting in at my local gym was good enough. When I got tired of being “stuck” in the same workouts and not seeing any body changes, I decided to try it. After a few short months, I was hooked. It actually worked! I could see the changes physically and feel my energy level rising. My periodic blood work was improving, verifying the transformations that I had observed . Not only that, I cut my workout time in half. As a busy Mom of 2, that was huge. Loving the CrossFit PTC box and community, I decided to take it to the next level and become a coach.

Jeff Smith

Coach

In 2010, Jeff hit the proverbial “mid-life” crisis at age 40.

“I was overweight, addicted to soft drinks, and eating anything and everything.  My triglycerides along with blood sugar and blood pressure were borderline high.  To offset this lifestyle, I was paying for a membership at the local 24-hour fitness center, where I was seen once a month on the elliptical or bench press.  With heart disease and diabetes in my family, I was headed toward trouble in a hurry.  That’s when a sales associate of mine recommended CrossFit.  I immediately loved the workouts, coaching, friendships, and most of all the results of this fitness lifestyle.  In fact, I lost 25 lbs in the first three months and haven’t looked back since.  CrossFit has really changed my life and I hope to do this till my last days.”

After being a CrossFit member for three years, Jeff decided to move down the pathway of coaching to inspire others to make real changes in their life. His favorite lifts are clean and jerk, press, and back squat; favorite exercise is double-unders.  His least favorite movement is anything that involves a front squat or thruster!

Cristi Waller

Coach

Cristi was introduced to running while taking a weight lifting class in college. That class required running a mile without stopping in order to pass. She struggled to make that mile. Since then she has completed a full marathon, many half marathons, as well as 15K and 10K runs. She has completed so many 5K runs she has lost count. She enjoys helping non-running friends achieve their running goals, no matter what that might be. She has also competed in several triathlons, is an avid cyclist, and enjoys mountain biking. She loves running with her dogs and playing with her horses.

“My passion is to help others become the best version of themselves they can be. I know full well the struggles of trying to get your health back after letting it slip away. Life is busy, but our health must take priority. I became addicted to Crossfit because it is always different, absolutely never boring, and you will not meet nicer people anywhere! I love that the harder you struggle, the louder people cheer for you. The energy and strength you gain from doing Crossfit makes life easier, tasks that used to seem difficult become easy. I believe staying strong and agile is what will keep us out of the nursing home! It is my priority to help people get the most out of their hour with us. I love seeing the tired leave rejuvenated and ready to tackle their day!

Every time someone steps into my class, I want them to feel challenged, motivated, and a real sense of accomplishment.”  In addition to Crossfit, he enjoys getting to play ultimate frisbee, golf, tennis, or flag football.  When he’s not coaching or working out he enjoys playing guitar and spending time with his family.

Jen Nicosia

Coach

Jen Nicosia comes to us from Metro Detroit by way of Boston.  Fitness has been a part of Jen’s life for a long time and she has experience in many different areas.  Jen began teaching as a Group Fitness Instructor in 2009 at the YMCA in the Boston area.  She joined our gym as a Trooper in The World’s Best Boot Camp in the Fall of 2014.  Shortly thereafter, she became a WBBC Commander while in parallel preparing for CrossFit Level 1 Certification, which she has since received.  As a CrossFit and WBBC Coach, Jen brings unsurpassed levels of care, enthusiasm, and energy to her classes.

“The feeling I get when I help somebody reach a goal they thought was unreachable is what drives me to do what I do.  Fitness is as much mental as it is physical, and I am passionate about helping people get over the mental hump that is limiting them from achieving their physical goals.”

Jen lives in PTC with her husband, Joe, and their 2 daughters.  When not at the gym, she is usually driving to dance classes and competitions with her daughters, or cheering on her Alma Mater, the Michigan State Spartans.
